Saying Yes to Fear!

For the next phase of my life, I have decided to do something very simple:

Say yes to the things I have been saying no to because of fear and anxiety.

For the last two years, I have rarely gone to weekend activities or evening events. I would overthink, feel anxious, find a reason not to go—and stay home.

So I have decided to run an experiment: one experience every week that I would normally avoid.

This week, I chose a poolside movie night-as simple as that!

I went alone.

On the way there, I kept telling myself: Be calm. Be cool. Everything is fine. You can handle this.

And then I simply went.

I sat there for an hour, surrounded by strangers, watching a movie. Actually, the movie wasn’t even the important part. I was watching myself.

How am I feeling?
Why am I afraid?
What is actually happening?

And nothing happened.

After an hour, I walked back feeling strangely light—as if I had defeated one small demon inside me.

I realized something: I don’t have to wait for fear to disappear before I act. I can act while I’m afraid.

So this is my new experiment.

One uncomfortable experience every week.

Not to become fearless.

But to become free.

And perhaps, somewhere along the way, I’ll meet myself again.
