We all experience anxiety at different moments in life — especially when we are under pressure. It shows up before an important meeting, a critical decision, a public speech, or any situation where we are exposed or doing something for the first time. In those moments, a quiet fear creeps in, often accompanied by anxiety. Sometimes it becomes so loud that it clouds our ability to focus, to think clearly, or to stay grounded. This is where the real challenge lies — not in the situation itself, but in how easily we lose our presence within it.
Over time, I have learned that these are precisely the moments when calm matters most. Not forced calm, but intentional slowing down. This is the time to stop overthinking, to resist the urge to control every word or outcome, and to simply be present. I remind myself to trust who I am and what I carry. I don’t need to be perfect, impressive, or flawless. I only need to be real. When I allow myself to speak as I am — honestly and without performance — the anxiety softens. Presence replaces pressure. And what needs to be said finds its own way out.
